love the idea that art can not only be beautiful, but it can also have a sense of humor. “I See You – Spoonbill with Crab” was the perfect idea to blend these ideas together. I love when I see images that have a story, or interaction about them. I wanted this piece to be a private curiosity like standoff between the two animals.

The colors in “I See You” reflect the times in which the leaves and foliage really bring an overall color that casts itself

onto everything. I am particularly intrigued, when you know something is, lets say for this piece pink, the color that you correlate in your mind with how the animal actually looks, but when the animal and scenery are reflecting light and color, the pinks I am painting have layers of very light clear yellow/gold over them just like when the colored light of the scene infuses and reflects itself.
